    Who We Are.

Alpha Gamma Rho (AGR) is the fraternity sharing a common bond within a dynamic, global agriculture committed to fostering the highest values and providing each and every brother with superior lifelong personal development and professional success.

    Over A Century Of Success.

AGR was founded in 1904 at Ohio State University and has since expanded to almost 70 campuses nationwide. AGR has historically been strictly an agricultural fraternity, but we have since expanded our membership to those people pursuing careers in agriculture, food and fiber, natural resources, life sciences and related fields.

In 1916, AGR expanded to the University of Wisconsin-Madison. With its large agricultural campus and being the heart of the "Dairy State," Madison was an obvious place for a chapter. The Iota Chapter, as it was named, has been an influential organization on the Greek campus and the university since then. More than 1,600 men have made the Iota Chapter their college home.

    Common Questions.

What kind of fraternity is AGR?

It’s both a social and a professional fraternity. All members of AGR focus on their academic goals while still enjoying all aspects of student life on campus.

How do you become a member?

If you and the fraternity have a mutual interest, you immediately become a member. We have developed the Brotherhood Program to eliminate the possibility of hazing in order to focus on our tradition of leadership. We have a zero-tolerance policy.

Do all members come from agricultural backgrounds?

No. AGR is for any young man preparing for any agriculture or food-related career, including food science, biotechnology, agricultural business and marketing, environmental science and many others.

    What can you expect?

We pride ourselves on being campus leaders and having fun together. We support each other on campus and throughout life. Being a part of AGR is choosing to be connected with a network of well-rounded men across the world for your entire life.
